Barry Courville

OPELOUSAS-A Mass of Christian Burial for Barry Courville, age 54, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Very Monsignor Derouen will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre, Deacon Mitch Hebert will conduct the graveside.

Mr. Courville passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at his hunting camp in Palmetto. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and godfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking a delicious meal for his family. He loved watching all LSU sports. In his spare time, you could find Barry camping or hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Evelyn Lamke Courville; son, Barry "Jai" Courville and wife, Kelli of Port Barre; daughters, Katie Williams and husband, Brandon of Port Barre and Zoe Courville of Port Barre; brother, Frankie Stelly and wife, Tammy of Port Barre; sister, Lisa Guidry of Arnaudville and his 3 grandchildren, Presleigh Courville, Beckam Courville and EvyKay Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Judy Courville; brothers, Wade Courville and Ladd Courville and grandmother, Gladys "Momee" Marks.

Pallbearers will be, Barry "Jai" Courville (son), Brandon Williams (son-in-law), Robert "Be-Be" Lamke (brother-in-law), Christian Beaugh (close friend), Barry Briley (close friend) and Chris Hensen (close friend) . Honorary pall bearers will be his grandson, Beckam Courville and his close friend, T. Don Romero.

The family requested visiting hours on Monday, April 3, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
