Port Barre -A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Gail Savoie will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Fth. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.

Barbara Gail was a resident of Port Barre and died on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at St. Joseph's Carpenter House in Lafayette, at the age of 71. Barbara Gail worked at Opelousas General Health System as a LPN for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching baseball, watching TV and most importantly, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara Gail is going to be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Barbara Gail is survived by her sons; Robert Thomassee and wife Peggy of Arnaudville, James Thomassee and wife Johnice of Opelousas, Kent Thomassee and wife Tricia of Opelousas, Chad Savoie and wife Shannon of Baytown, TX.; daughter, Brandy Higginbotham and husband Corey of Port Barre; sisters; Betty Chenevert and husband Douglas of Port Barre, Carolyn Ramer and husband Earl of Panama City, FL; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Barbara Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Marion "Benny" Savoie; parents, Marion and Cydalise Stoute Marks and grandson, Jacob Higginbotham.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thomassee, James Thomassee, Kent Thomassee, Chad Savoie, Bryce Higginbotham, and Jason Savoie. Honorary Pallbearers will be Corey Higginbotham, Wade Thomassee and Joshua Thomassee.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and reopen on Tuesday, November 15 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.

A Rosary service will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Monday in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
