Barbara Guidroz

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Angelle Guidroz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October, 1, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Port Barre, LA. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Rev. Benji Richard will officiate the services.
Barbara was a longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012, at her home at the age of 67. She was a Florist for many years. She was a Christian woman who was devoted to her faith and her church. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Barre. As a pastime, she enjoyed listening to her wind chimes, baking and decorating cakes, and collecting dolls. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jean Tex Guidroz, Jr. of Port Barre two sons, Dwain Guidroz of Port Barre and Richard Guidroz and wife, Christina of Port Barre one daughter, Priscilla Gaspard of Opelousas one brother, Joseph Eugene Castille of Krotz Springs one sister, Shelly Dubroc of Port Barre two brothersinlaw, George Thompson of Port Barre and Murphy Guidroz of Opelousas two sistersinlaw, Joyce Wyble and Laura Fitzgerald both of Port Barre 11 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her wonderful caretaker, Mary Beth Ramoin of Port Barre who assisted Mrs. Barbara and Mr. Tex with all their needs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Angelle, Sr. and Anna Lou Stelly Angelle her brothers, twin Bobby Ray Angelle, Sr. and Marshall Johnny Angelle, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Angelle, Jr., Ryan Gaspard, Michael James Mike Gaspard, Sr., Albert Castille, Penny Castille, Sr., and Penny Castille, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael James Gaspard, Jr., Justin Gremillion, and Dustin Boudreaux.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Sunday, September 30, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
