Barbara Burleigh

Grand Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial Service for Barbara Ann Breaux Burleigh will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery. Rev. Father Derrick Weingartner S.J. will celebrate the Mass.

Barbara was a long time resident of Sunset and she passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 75. Barbara retired from USL now known as ULL after serving for over 33 years as an accountant, she was in charge of registration of new students and also in charge of grant and International Scholarship programs. Barbara was an active member of the Sunset Garden Club and was very active at St. Charles. She served as a Eucharist Minister, the Altar Society, a Choir member and a reader at Sunset Elementary School. Barbara loved gardening, painting, craft projects, traveling and spending time her family and grandchildren. She is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, James Jim Burleigh of Sunset sons, Robert B. Dugal of Sunset, Edgar E. Dugal,III of Raceland, Dwayne E. Dugal and wife Sheri of Lafayette, Steven M. Dugal and wife Lisa of Mandeville daughters, B. Dianne Dugal and husband T.J. Chevalier of Metarie, Rebecca D. Caruso and husband Keith of McKinney, TX. stepchildren, Sharon Marie Burleigh of Shreveport, James Allen Burleigh of Jackson, MS., Roger Scott Burleigh of Dallas, TX. sister, Janice B. Fox and husband Bobby of Grand Coteau grandchildren, Tyler Andre Dugal, Joshua D. Sanchez, Jason D. Sanchez, James Jimmy Brinkman, Michelle Caruso, Melanie Caruso, Sarah Dugal, Emily Dugal, Molly Dugal, Amanda Dugal, Katy Dugal, Nicholas Dugal great grandchild, Jaxon V. Hano step grandchildren, Kristen Elizabeth Burleigh, Allen Cade Burleigh, Mary Elizabeth Burleigh step great grandchild, Bradley C. Burleigh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.A. Black Breaux and Shirley Marie Greenlee.

Visiting hours will be observed in the St. Charles Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, a Rosary Service will be held at 11:30 a.m.

In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Carmelites Society or St. Ignatius School of Grand Coteau.
