Mrs. Avia Benoit Noel

Swords Funeral services for Mrs. Avia Benoit Noel, the former Avia Brown, 83, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell and burial will follow in the Verrette Cemetery in Swords.

Father Dan Picard will conduct the services.

Mrs. Noel, a resident of Duson, died at 7:10 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2006, at her residence. She was a native of Swords, and a long time resident of Lawtell. She was loved by all and was a loving and devoted mother and caretaker to many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Musical selections will be provided by Maria Benoit and Cecil Johnson.

Survivors include: Eight children: Fred Benoit and wife, Ghislaine of Opelousas; Morris Benoit of Lafayette; Martha Benoit Galland and husband, Elson of Duson; Marvin Benoit and wife, Melba of Duson; Patra Noel Benoit of Church Point; Paul Benoit and wife, Barbara of Maurice; Virginia Benoit McBride and husband, Horace of Sunset; Patricia Benoit Meche and husband, Herman of Leonville; Veronica Benoit McCartney and husband, Jerry of Bel Air, MD;

Foster children: Charles Tribe and wife, Sue of Murfreesboro,TN; Earl Tribe of Erath; and Randy Toups of Abbeville; Grandchildren: Mario, Micheal, Mary Ann, Theresa, Monica, Amanda, Daniel, Pamela, Anita, Stacey, Elie, Vance, Ward, Gwendolyn, Victoria, Joshua, Charles Jr., Noel, Jason, Eric, Marcus, Jessica, Angelle, Bryce and Ryan. Great Grandchildren: Christina, Jonathan, Brianna, Sibrina, Olivia, Joseph, Alisha, Ethan, Leslie, Seth, Lubert, Holly, Hunter, Brock, Blake, D. J., Natalie, Willie, Jr., Jacob, Caleb, Katherine, Lana, Codi, Cori, Chandler, Myra, Tristan, Joel, Dakota, Elizabeth, Sam, Ethan, Erin, Evan, Austin, Jas, Jacob, Bryce Jr., and Lauren. She also has a host of stepchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Noel was preceded in death by her first husband, Elie Benoit; her second husband, Adonis Romero; and her third husband, Allen Joseph Noel; one son, Charles Benoit, Sr.; three grandchildren: Myra Galland, Catherine Benoit, and Kirby Benoit; her parents: Paul Brown, Jr. and Virginia Marie Verrette Brown; and one daughter-in-law, Regina Benoit.
