Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for Austin Erit Johnson at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Kenneth Cochran will conduct the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Austin, age 18, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2019. His greatest joy was loving and serving others. Austin loved meeting new people and making everyone around him laugh. Austin was a 2018 graduate of Westminster Christian Academy. He enjoyed working as a phlebotomist at Opelousas General Health System. Mostly he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Kenneth and Kristen Cochran and Spencer and Lacey Johnson; grandparents, Rhonda Piere, Dr. Larry and Kathleen Cochran, Sharon and Grady Webb, Chyrese and Jon Valpredo and Scott Johnson; brothers, Aidan Cochran and Archer Cochran; sisters, Ainsley Cochran, Adoree Cochran, Zeah Pearce and Brooklyn Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dennis Piere and numerous great-grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Aidan Cochran, Abram Bender, Grayson Stepanek, Alex Lovell, Wyatt Broussard, Grant Henry, Alec Trahan and Collin Burnell.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Austin's name to the Opelousas General Health System Foundation.
