Austin Bellow

Swords, LA. -A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas for Austin Bellow, known to many as "Popee"." Fr. Greg Simien and Bishop Curtis Guillory will concelebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet.

Popee was a resident of Swords. He passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at his home, at the age of 76. Popee retired from F. Miller and Son Construction Company, in Lake Charles, LA., He was a member of Local Union #207, and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He enjoyed raising animals and growing a crop.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Elsie Mae Papillion Bellow of Swords, his children, Danny Ray Fontenot of Beaumont, TX., Danny Bellow, of Swords, Brenda (Alfred) Guillory, Nancy Gobert, Torry (Dave) Lemelle, all of Swords, Mary Geneva (Willie) Guillory of Basile, Delores (Walter III) Joubert of Iowa, LA., brother, Hilton (Jenny) Bellow of Lake Charles, LA., sisters, Mary Vernita (Daniel) Arceneaux, Ella (Arthur) Carr both of Lake Charles, Marina Lemonia of Fenton, twenty four grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Durel and Torry Thierry Bellow, two sons, Joseph Kenneth Bellow, and Joseph Randy Bellow, brother, Henry Bellow and sisters, Sayretha Leday and Barbara Jean Bellow, son-n-law, Daniel Gobert, daughter-n-law, Renee Fontenot, and god child, Randall St. Andre`

Pallbearers will be, Randy Guillory, Chad Guillory, Derrick Gobert, Durel Gobert, Adrian Bellow and Dante` Gaines.

The visitation will begin on Sunday, January 10, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Services will resume on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
