Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Aurline M. Carpenter age 76, were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010. Fr. James Brady celebrated the service in the Sibille Funeral Home. Interment was followed in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Aurline was a native of Melville, and a longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away peacefully at her home, on October 20, 2010. She enjoyed volunteering at Prompt Succor Nursing Home and many schools in Opelousas.
Survivors include husband of 58 years Kenneth Gene Carpenter, Sr. of Opelousas, sons Kenneth E. Carpenter, Jr., and his wife Josie of New Iberia, and John Edward Carpenter and his companion Anna Marks of Port Barre, daughters Peggy Ann Carpenter Corbridge and her husband Bill of Katy, TX., and Sandra Jean Carpenter Hebert, and her companion Mark Mclaren of Broussard, five grandchildren Bobby Gene Hebert and wife Amber of Broussard, Kenneth Jake Carpenter of Broussard, Tiffany Marie Carpenter, of New Iberia, Caitlin Marie Carpenter of Broussard, Kenneth Joseph Carpenter of New Iberia, Alexis and Mallory Gillen of Port Barre, great grandchildren Brayden and Gabbie Hebert of Broussard and Layla Mclaren of Dularge.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alva L. and Pearl Burleigh Myers.
Visiting hours were held for the immediate family in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, October 21, 2010, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Hospital.
