Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for, Mrs. Audrey Reed Fontenot, on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Reverend Kenneth Mayne will conduct the service. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mrs. Audrey, age 98, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the St. Landry Court of the Jr. Catholic Daughters of America, and the Ladies Altar Society of St. Landry Catholic Church. Mrs. Fontenot was the owner and operator of Fashionette Beauty Shop in Opelousas for over 22 years. Mrs. Audrey will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Carriere and husband, Bruce of Keedysville, MD; 3 grandchildren, Leslie Carriere of Keedysville, MD, Sally Berg and husband, Jamie of Jamestown, NY, and Elliott Carriere and wife, Amanda of Hagerstown, MD; 6 great-grandchildren, Yoli, Katie, Viviana and Alex Torres, Elise Carriere and Jacob Berg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wilfred Fontenot.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Audrey's memory to Prompt Succor Nursing Home at 954 E. Prudhomme St. Opelousas, LA 70570.
