Port Barre Funeral services for Audrey W. Badeaux, age 69, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, with a mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Father Dan Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Audrey was a native and a long time resident of Port Barre. She died on Monday, May 6, 2011, at Opelousas General Health System. Audrey worked as an office receptionist for Dr. Lucius Doucet for 25 years, and worked for her son Dr. Badeaux for thirteen years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and going on vacation with the family, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her entire family especially on Sunday, she loved reading good books, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a special sister to her siblings who all adored and loved being with her.

Survivors include her children Dr. Damian Badeaux and wife, Shannon of Opelousas, Timothy Badeaux, and wife, Simone of Baton Rouge, her father Wilfred Wheaton, of Port Barre, brothers Michael Wheaton and wife, Betty of Port Barre, and Pat Wheaton and wife, Darlene of Leonville, sisters Rita Polly Johnson and husband, Vaughn of Krotz Springs, June Griffin and husband, Sammy of Opelousas, Cathy Devillle and husband, Mike, of Port Barre, Connie Pousson and husband, Kevin of Port Barre, , grandchildren Brock, Caroline, Jordan and Camille Badeaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Badeaux, her mother, Rita Hollier.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the Sibille Funeral Home chapel.

The family requests that visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, June 9, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m.
