Aubrey Thibodeaux

OPELOUSAS – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Aubrey Lee Thibodeaux announces his passing on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the age of 66.  Services and rosary will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas with Deacon Joubert conducting services.  Burial will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell.

Aubrey Lee Thibodeaux was born on January 21, 1956 in Lafayette, Louisiana to T.J. and Mary Lou Thibodeaux.  Aubrey was a welder by trade and was known for doing an excellent job.  During his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors and camping.  Aubrey’s greatest joy was that of taking care of and spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and he will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

Left behind to cherish Aubrey’s memory are his two daughters, Christie Lacassin and husband, Ryan of Carencro and Crystal Serrette and husband, Jarrod of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Averi and Finnly Lacassin and Milo Serrette; and brother, Eddie Dean Thibodeaux of Arnaudville.

The family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at rest with his parents, T.J. and Mary Lou Thibodeaux; former wife, Rose Marie Guidroz; brothers, Arthur Ray Thibodeaux and John Vickman Thibodeaux; and sister in law, Betty Thibodeaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas on Sunday, June 12, 2022 beginning at 9:00 AM until time of services.

Pallbearers for the service are Jarrod Serrette, Ryan Lacassin, Beau Guidroz, Dustie Thibodeaux, Kaylin Guidroz, and T.J. Thibodeaux.

The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the staff of J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home for the excellent care and support during Aubrey’s stay.
