Aspazie Mallet

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Aspazie D. Mallet, age 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the St. Leo Mausoleum. Msgr. Father Curt Mallet will celebrate the Mass.
She was a resident of Arnaudville. She passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at her home. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, for her family and friends. She was Minister of Communion for 22 years and a member of the St. Leo Altar Society. She was a great sergeant mother to her orphan sheep. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Alvin Mallet and his wife, Emmaline of Arnaudville, Ethel Patin and her husband, Carrol of Arnaudville, Betty Taylor and her husband, Elrick of Benton, MS., Linda Artigue and husband, Mike of Arnaudville, Theresa Benoit and her husband, Kenneth of Arnaudville, seventeen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by parents, Virgil and Maria Qubedeaux Duplechain, her husband, Dudjay Mallet of 62 years, brother, Easton Duplechain, sister, Ozelda Kidder, one great grandchild Ludy Patin, brotherinlaws, Dudley Mallet and Stanley Kidder.

A special thanks to her care givers, Viola Doucet, Lillie Myers, Claire Chenier, Janella Jerry, St. Joseph Hospice and STAT Home Health of Lafayette.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, April 24, 2014, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m.
The rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the Funeral Home.
