Arthur Devillier

Port Barre - Funeral Services for Arthur Devillier, age 73 will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre. Pastor Benji Richard will conduct the Service and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.
Mr. Arthur passed on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point, LA, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Arthur was born and raised in the Port Barre area. He left for a time to serve our Nation in the U.S. Army. Then, he returned to the Port Barre area and worked as a roughneck in the oilfield industry. Arthur enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting grass and driving Sally around. Arthur is going to be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Junelle Devillier of Port Barre; daughters, Caroline Bonin and husband, Ricky of Lafayette, and Christine Richard and husband, Tim of Lafayette; step-sons, Dwain Grimmett and wife, Bonnie of Leonville, Reggie Grimmett and wife, Lisa of Port Barre, and Marty Grimmett of Port Barre; sister, Marjorie Devillier Magtira of Miami, FL; 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Bob; 7 step-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Esther Dupre Devillier; sister, Elise Miller; brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller; step-grandson Jacob Grimmett and his sidekick Sally, "If you didn't know Sally, then you didn't know Arthur."
Pallbearers will be Russell Miller, Mike Miller, Tim Richard, Ricky Bonin; Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Howard, Marty Grimmett, Reggie Grimmett and Dwain Grimmett.
Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday the Funeral Home will reopen at 10:00 a.m. until time of Service at 1:00 pm. Rosary Service will be held on Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
