Arlan Burghdoff

Arlan Burghdoff, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, has left this world on September 18, 2023. Born on February 11, 1957, in Opelousas, LA, Arlan touched the lives of many with his vibrant spirit and warm heart.

Arlan's life will be celebrated through various services held in his honor. The visitation will take place on September 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at Sibille Funeral Home located at 402 Saizan Ave in Port Barre, LA. Another visitation will be held on September 22, 2023, starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 12:30 PM at the same location.

A rosary will follow the visitation on September 21st starting at 7:00 PM until 7:30 PM also at Sibille Funeral Home. On September 22nd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 403 Saizan Ave in Port Barre, LA a Mass will be held in Arlan's memory beginning at 1:00 PM. The burial will immediately follow the Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Port Barre.

Arlan proudly served his country as a Veteran with the United States Marine Corp. His unwavering dedication and selflessness are testaments to his character and bravery.

Beyond his military service, Arlan had a passion for music. He loved playing the drums and singing. He showcased his musical talent as a member of the Cajun Crossroads Band. Arlan's creativity extended to jewelry making as well. He found joy in crafting unique pieces that were cherished by family and friends.

When not immersed in music or creating beautiful jewelry, Arlan found solace in bass fishing and playing pool. These activities allowed him to relax and connect with nature. His family fondly remembers the times when Arlan would zoom around in his scooter chair, bringing laughter and joy to those around him.

Arlan's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Carolyn Robin Burghdoff. Their union was a testament to love, commitment, and shared experiences. Together they created a beautiful family that will continue to honor Arlan's legacy.

Arlan will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Steffen Burghdoff and Colby Burghdoff; daughters, Hollie Burghdoff and Daisha Gravouia; brothers Bradley Burghdoff, John Craig Burghdoff and Mark O'Connor; sister Debbie Hebert; and grandchildren Braylon, Jace, Leah Daigle, Cole, Wyatt, Lexi, Brenna Gravouia, Bentley Taylor, and Henry Fontenot.

Arlan's preceded in death by his parents Jack and Janice Burghdoff; his sister Evy Nicole Coffelt; and granddaughter, Alli Gravouia.

Pallbearers will include, Steffen Burghdoff, Colby Burghdoff, Braylon Daigle, Jace Daigle, Mark O'Connor, and Elvin Tookie Fontenot.

Honorary pallbearers will include, Bradley Burghdoff, John Craig Burghdoff and Mitchell Hebert.

In this time of grief, let us find solace in the memories shared with Arlan. May we remember the joy he brought to our lives and carry his spirit forward as we continue on our journeys. As we bid farewell to Arlan Burghdoff, may he rest in eternal peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
