Opelousas Funeral services for Anthony Henry, age 54, who peacefully departed, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010, with a service in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be at later date.
Rev. Frank Ford will officiate the services.
Anthony was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Opelousas. He died on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System.
He was a great Christian person who had a loving heart and full of patience. He was a security officer for the hospital for over 1 year. He also worked for the National Guard Armory. He worked for the State of Louisiana at the Opelousas Developmental Center as a student advisor and teacher for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Charlene Cortez Henry of Opelousas his two sons, Keith Henry and Cedrick of Opelousas two step sons, Ben and Chris of Opelousas two daughters, Tramika Henry of Houston and Joy Lestie of Opelousas two step daughters, Rachel and Cherie of Opelousas three brothers, Martin Henry of Eunice Lloyd Henry of Houston and Jude Henry of Opelousas and three sisters, Theresa Adolph Woods, Sr. of New Orleans Irma Clifford Smith of San Diego, CA and Dianne Joseph Landry of Opelousas 7 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Bay Henry and Zita Sias Henry and one brother, Thomas Henry.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, August 21, 2010, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
