Anthony "Martin" Cosgrove, Jr.

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fr. James Brady will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the St. Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.

Mr. Martin was a life long resident of Opelousas, Louisiana and passed from this life on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Landry Extended Care. Mr. Martin was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church, former Supervisor of Transportation for the St. Landry Parish School Board, member of the St. Landry Bus Drivers Association, long time member of the St. Landry Parish Cattleman's Association and loved classic automobiles. Mr. Martin loved being with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren which he loved dearly. He is going to be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mr. Martin is survived by his son, Martin "Marty" Cosgrove, III of Metairie, La.; daughter, Kathryn Cosgrove-Richard and husband John of Opelousas; grandchildren, Caroline Frances Cosgrove-Richard, Evan Martin Cosgrove-Richard both of Opelousas; former wife and mother of his children, Wilda L. Cosgrove and his special companion, his puppy "Duke."

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, A. Martin and Angela Mallett Cosgrove, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and the Funeral Home will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m until time of Service. A Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

The family of Mr. Cosgrove request that in lieu of flowers. donations be made to the Opelousas Catholic School Foundation at 428 East Prudhomme St. Opelousas, La. 70570
