Krotz Springs - Funeral services for Mr. Anthony Scot "Spooka" Bourgeois will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at New Life Church of Port Barre, LA. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Krotz Springs with Rev. Joe Russo officiating.
Scot passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Opelousas General Health System at the age of 51. He was born in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Krotz Springs. He worked in the ALON Refinery in Krotz Springs as an operation supervisor. He enjoyed the outdoors while riding his motorcycle, watching sports, and coaching softball. He loved working at ALON. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Hannah Bourgeois of Lafayette; and Desiree Nicole Bourgeois of Krotz Springs; mother, Viola Sonnier Bourgeois and stepfather, Wilfred "Snipe" Pourciau of Lafayette; Scot's companion, Renee Ledoux of Krotz Springs; brother, Randy Bourgeois and wife, Virginia of Port Barre; sisters, Deboraha Moran and husband, Ricky of Kaplan; and Penny Bourgeois and companion, Gary of Lafayette; mother of his children, Brenda Fontenot of Port Barre.
He was preceded in death by father, Simon Bourgeois.
Pallbearers will be Blaine Bourgeois, Rhett Bourgeois, Chris Moran, Dennis Beard, Chris Savoy, and Mitch Beard.
Visiting hours will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, April 3, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, the visitation will resume at 8:00 am until 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Scot's name to the family to help defray medical and funeral expenses.
