Grand Coteau- Funeral services for Anna Lee Daigle Bourque, age 86, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery 2 LawtellHighway 35 in Church Point.
Father Lambert will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial.
Mrs. Anna was born in Church Point and was a resident of Sunset. She died on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her home in Sunset. She was a cook at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau for 10 years. She loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
Cherishing her memories are one son, Darrell Bourque and wife, Karen of Church Point; three daughters: Charlotte Chataignier and husband, Clay of St. Martinville; Jackie Savoie and husband, Ackel of Sunset; and Gayle Stelly and husband, Herbert Polo of Sunset; two sisters: Mell Miller and husband, Max of Opelousas; and Mabel Fontenot of Baton Rouge; brother-in-law, Lee Halphen of Opelousas; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Odon Bourque; parents: Joseph Clarence Daigle and Anita Thibodeaux Daigle; two brothers: Warren and Lawrence Daigle; three sisters: Lena Mills, Madge Mills, and Jean Halphen; and two grandchildren: Chad Stelly, and infant son of Jackie and Ackel Savoie.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Grand Coteau on Friday, July 31, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Rosary service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
