Anite Lemaire

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Anite Simon LeMaire will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Msgr. Harrington will officiate the services. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in Scott.

Anite Simon LeMaire, 85, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Evangeline Oaks Guest Home in Carencro. She was a native of Kaplan and was a longtime resident of Sunset. She enjoyed gardening her beautiful flowers, fishing, traveling, and sewing. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Alric "Jimmy" LeMaire and wife, Linda of Sunset; two grandchildren, Jessica Tori LeMaire of Sunset; and Jason Robert LeMaire and wife, Jennifer of Church Point; two great-grandchildren, Trager LeMaire and Harrison LeMaire; godchild, Larry LeBlanc and wife, Jackie of Thibodaux; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Saucier of Port Sulphur; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. LeMaire; her infant son, Christopher LeMaire; her parents, Leonard Simon and Paula Harrington Simon; brothers, Wilfred Simon and wife, Mary; and Wilson Simon and wife, Lucille; and sister, Lilia LeBlanc and husband, Evelia "Bee".

Pallbearers will be Jason, Joe Pat, Larry, Alric, Shad, and Mike. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica, Trager, and Harrison.

The visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home. On Monday, the funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
