Anabel Lalonde

Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA, for Anabel Guidroz Lalonde. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. The Rev. Father Kenneth Domingue will be the celebrant for the Mass. Giftbearers will be DAnn Barry Plauch and Carol McManus Broussard. The Readings will be done by Tony Broussard.

Mrs. Anabel was a native of Arnaudville, a longtime resident of Leonville, and was currently residing at Courtyard Manor of Lafayette. She passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 98. She was a graduate of S.L.I. where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She was an elementary school teacher at Leonville Elementary, Pecaniere Elementary, and Arnaudville Elementary with over 36 years of teaching. She was also a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and past member of the Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by two nieces, Janell Guilbeau Broussard Bruce of Cankton and Karleen Guilbeau Barry Robert of Sunset and a host of great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Joe Lalonde her parents, Charles Guidroz and Beulah Morrough Guidroz her sister, Bea Guilbeau Roy and two brothersinlaw, Preston Guilbeau and Cyrus Roy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA.
