Amos H. Reed

Mallet- Funeral services for Mr. Amos H. Reed, age 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Ann's Cemetery in Mallet.

Fr. Benis Osuagwu will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Reed was a native of Church Point and long time resident of Gun Barrel City, Texas. He died on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Hospice East Texas, Tyler, Texas. He was a truck driver and a wonderful father, grandfather and brother.

Amos is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Jefferson and husband Eddie of Humble, Texas, Juanita Sellers of Houston, Texas; brothers, Ray Reed and wife Anna Bell of Lawtell, Daniel Reed of Church Point; sisters, Loicey Green of Houston, Texas, Ann-Bertha Collins and husband Joseph of Lake Charles, Vivian Guillory of Lake Charles and four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Beulah Guillory Reed.

Visiting hours will be observed in St. Ann's Catholic Church on Saturday, May 23, 2009 from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. the time of services.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
