Port Barre- Mass of Christian Burial for Amantha Doucet, known to many as "Dolly", will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Fr. Daniel Picard will officiate the services.
Amantha was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at her home at the age of 48. She worked for many years as a cook for Chicken King and Ryan's. She was a good caring woman who extended help to anyone in need. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two sons, Justin Guidry of Seattle, WA; and Christopher Guidry and wife, Celine Guidroz of Opelousas; daughter, Natosha Guidry of Opelousas; mother, Mary Credeur Lanclos and stepfather, Roger of Prairie Ronde; brother, Brett Doucet of Leonville; four sisters, JoAnna Landry of Opelousas; Bridget Vasseur of Lawtell; Paula Jeffers of Arnaudville; and Abby Doucet of Opelousas; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Johnathan Guidry; and her father, Nelton Doucet.
Pallbearers will be Elton, Chris, Denis, Warren, Cain, and Freddie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Port Barre. The Rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
