Allen Joseph Noel

Opelousas Funeral services for Allen Joseph Noel, 85, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 7, 2006, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial and interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Rev. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Allen Joseph Noel a longtime resident of Lawtell and native of Arnaudville, died at 10:24 PM September 5, 2006 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Noel retired after working for the Louisiana Highway Department for 26 years.

He was also a volunteer fireman for the Lawtell Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include: Spouse Avia Noel of Lafayette; a son Gerald Noel and his wife Johanna of Opelousas; his step-mother, Mairia M. Noel; six brothers, Lawrence Noel of Church Point, Wilfred Noel of Port Neches, TX, Dale Noel of Topeka, KS, Reed Noel of Houston, TX, Fred Noel of Church Point and Dwayne Noel of Lewisburg; nine sisters, Bertha Brown of Arnaudville, Sr. Emma Noel of Port Allen, LA, Vivian Bossley of Beaumont, TX, Sr. Priscilla Noel of New Orleans, LA, Pat Benoit of Lewisburg, LA, Jane Lambert of Baton Rouge, LA Maria Sandau of Johnson City, N.Y., Meta Noel of Lewisburg, LA and Celine Guillory of Sunset, LA; two grandchildren, Angela Shaheen of Opelousas, LA and Kimberly Burkey of San Antonio, TX; three great grandchildren Gabriel, Jade, and Kirsten Shaheen; Mr. Noel is also survived by his first wife Virgie Fruge Milton of Port Nechez, TX and his third wife Mrs. Terridine Noel of Lawtell, LA.
