Opelousas Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Allen Ray Naquin, age 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012, in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice. Rev. David Beverly will officiate the services.
Mr. Allen Ray Naquin was born in Mamou and was a resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at his home. He was a 1944 graduate of Vidrine High School. He worked for H M Food Provisions for 47 years. He was also a member of Opelousas Bible Church. He was a sportsman who enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also tended to his animals around his house as a pastime. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Grace Soileau Naquin of Opelousas one stepdaughter, Pamela Shaheen and husband, Emile Bobby Joseph Shaheen of Opelousas one brother, Blaine Naquin of Reddell four step grandchildren: Damian Emile Shaheen and wife, Angie of Opelousas Brock Shaheen and wife, Nicole of Opelousas Joshua Shaheen and wife, Rachael of Opelousas and Brittany Lanclos and husband, Tory of Opelousas and eight step greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edius Charles Naquin and Josephine Pireottie Naquin sister, Mildren Brignac brother, Gussie Naquin and his first wife, Anna Margaret Rawls Naquin.
