Allen Joiner

GRAND COTEAU - A Memorial Service will be held for Allen Joiner on Saturday October 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Grand Coteau. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Deacon Kawaski Drake will conduct the funeral service.

Allen, a resident of Arnaudville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the age of 76, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette surrounded by his family and friends.

Allen built his career as a surgical tech for 42 years while caring for the Morgan City community at Lakewood Hospital. He enjoyed serving on the Gospel Musical Workshop Choir of Acadiana, the New Providence and Special Providence choirs. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Allen is survived by his sister, Bessie Brown; his “adopted” brother, Michael Marshall; a host of nieces and nephews, Karen Linden, Darius Jospeh Linden, Makisha Linden, and Winslow Linden; and his dear friends, Johnny Sutton, Melvin Willis and Doris Thomas.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Winslow Joiner and Alberta Voohries Joiner; and infant sister, Sarah Ann Joiner.
