Native and resident of Sunset, LA. Passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2016 at the age of 82.
Allan was born in Sunset, on December 17th 1933 to Dr. Armand Brinkhaus and Julia Thoms Brinkhaus.
He is preceded in Death by his Wife, Loretta Thibodeaux Brinkhaus, Brother, William (Bill) Brinkhaus , Sister, Julie Brinkhaus Olivier and Grandson, Jon-Cameron Phillips.
He is Survived by siblings Armand Brinkhaus (Margaret) and Janie Brinkhaus Gaiennie Miller
Children Ludwig Brinkhaus (Roxann), Maria Bent (Dennis), Lauri Brinkhaus, Gretchen Dorsey (Neil), Karla Brown (Carl) and Hanna Brinkhaus
Grandchildren: Bobby (Paige), Julia Bent (Terry Wagner), Eric Bent, Nicholas Bent, Joshua Phillips, Cole Phillips (Christina), Hanna Dorsey, Callie Dorsey, Zachary Brown, Faust Kitchen
Great Grandchildren: Katie Brinkhaus, Lillian, Julia, Isabella and Cameron Phillips, Beau Phillips
Graduating from Sunset High in 1951, went on to attend S.L.I. ( Now ULL Lafayette) for one year then he joined the US Marine Corp where he served for 3 years, proudly wearing the uniform with Nat'l defense medal, Korean Defense medal, and the Untied Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Released in 1955 as a Sergeant. In 1958 he enrolled at N.L.S.E., (Now U of L Monroe), graduated in the 2nd graduating class in 1960 as a Pharmacist.
Allan's Pharmacy Career spanned 54 years. He was the owner/Pharmacist of Brinkhaus Thrifty Way Pharmacy in Sunset, LA.

Allan was a very well respected and honored member of the Retail Pharmacy community as was recognized throughout his career

He was also a cherished member of the Sunset and Grand Coteau Communities. Was an avid Civic Leader and supporter. He was loved and respected for his sense of humor, common sense and compassion toward his fellow man.

Visitation will be on Thursday November 24, 2016 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Coteau from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church.
