Alide G. Vidrine

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Alide G. Vidrine, age 96, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Fr. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Music will be provided by Valerie Andrus and the selections are, Amazing Grace, On Eagle Wings, Old Rugged Cross, Peace in the Valley and You Will Never Walk Alone.

Mrs. Vidrine was a native of Ville Platte, LA, and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. She died on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Maison deVille Nursing Home in Opelousas. Mrs. Vidrine worked at Mouret Meat Company for many years. She loved to cook and be with her family and friends. She loved to ride on the four wheeler when she could get some one to carry her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She is going to be sadly missed by her loving and caring family and her many friends.

She is survived by son, Wayne Vidrine and wife Edna of Opelousas; daughter, Mercedes Leblanc of Lafayette; sister, Gurcie Laurence of Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and twenty great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Verna Vidrine.

Mrs. Vidrine was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vidrine; parents, Nestar and Rossa Vasseur Guillory; son, Cloffa Don Vidrine; grandson, Kenneth Vidrine; brother, Calvin Guillory; sisters, Celina Moran, NaNa Smith, Marie Coker, Rosa Mae Garmes, Lilly Lalonde, son-in-law Kirby Leblanc

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.; Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 a.m on Wednesday until time of service. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m on Tuesday night.
