Agnes Chelette Mag Cason
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Chelette Mag Cason, 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in the Big Cane Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Cason Cemetery in Big Cane. Rev. Brian Johnston will conduct the services.
Mrs. Cason was a past resident of Opelousas and a current resident of Tri-Community Nursing Home of Palmetto. She died at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2007, in the Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette. She was a native of Rosa, LA. She was a homemaker and a life-long member of Big Cane Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three sons: Warren Cason and wife, JoAnn of Toledo Bend; Walter Cason of Toledo Bend; and Roland Cason and wife, Eva of Prairieville; one daughter, Danita Ann Cason of Lewisburg; two sisters: Olla Stevens of Bunkie; and Joyce Dauzat of Kenner; six grandchildren: Scott Cason of Baton Rouge; Kim Cason of Baton Rouge; Major Roman Kemp Cason, USMC of Okinawa, Japan; Garrick Cason, Nicholas Cason, and Katherine Cason of Jackson, MS; and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cason was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kemp Cason; one son, Larry Wayne Cason; and parents: Ernest and Adele Hooter Chelette.
Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the family and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the public in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Big Cane Baptist Church.
