Addison Ortego

Opelousas- Funeral Services for Mr. Addison James Ortego, age 82, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Father Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Mr. Addison was currently residing in Carencro. He died on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was a native and longtime resident of Prairie Ronde. He enjoyed working in his yard especially in his garden. He was a farmer most of his life. He worked in the local Stockyards; as well as, he drove a dump truck for the State of Louisiana Maintenance Department until his retirement. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include two children: James Ricky Ortego and wife, Cynthia of Carencro; and Geri Quebedeaux and husband, Bobby of Houma; one sister, Leeanna Theriot of Opelousas; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents: Alex Ortego and Eassa Deville Ortego; and two brothers: A. V. Ortego and Nolton Ortego.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas on Sunday, November 29, 2009, beginning at 6 p.m. with an all night wake until 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
