Moise Lejeune, Jr.

PORT BARRE - It is with great sadness that the family of Moise LeJeune, Jr. announces his passing on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the age of 83.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Dean Rydbeck.

Moise LeJeune, Jr. was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on August 31, 1939 to Moise LeJeune, Sr. and Dora LeJeune.  Moise was a hard worker who after the completion of his trade school program worked as a mechanic at Bordelon Motors and later was a mechanic in Houston.  When returning home, Moise worked for Arco Oil and Gas Company until his retirement from the company.  He was dedicated to his family and worked hard to provide for them.  Moise was loved and respected by those that knew him and was always helping others in any way he could.  His selfless gestures of kindness were made for family, friends, and even some that did not know him.  Moise was dearly loved by family and friends and his memory will live forever in their hearts.

Left behind to cherish the memories they created together are the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Leona Franks LeJeune of Port Barre; daughter, Tina Marie Elston of Lafayette; son, Tracy LeJeune and wife, Belinda of Port Barre;  three grandchildren, Crystal Lynn LeJeune, Kenneth “Kenny” LeJeune, and Sydney Elston; cousins, Joe and Betty Dowden of Port Barre; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He now rests with his parents, Moise LeJeune, Sr. and Dora LeJeune; brothers, Bobby LeJeune, Al LeJeune, and an infant brother; and sisters, Ceil Partin, Virgie Traylor, and Maggie Traylor.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Sibille’s Port Barre Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM until time of service.
